After graduating with honours in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Palermo, Dr Matteo Cilluffo began a professional path combining clinical practice, community care and surgical training.
He is completing his specialist training in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Sapienza University of Rome, developing his skills at institutions including Policlinico Umberto I, Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital and San Giovanni Addolorata Hospital.
His previous experience in Internal Medicine and out-of-hours primary care strengthened his ability to assess the patient as a whole and adapt to different clinical settings.

Professional experience
Surgical training supported by a solid clinical background.
Before beginning his residency, Dr Cilluffo worked as a physician for the Palermo Local Health Authority, including in the SARS-CoV-2 Internal Medicine unit at Civico Hospital in Partinico.
He also worked as an out-of-hours primary care locum in Misilmeri and Villabate. These roles strengthened his flexibility, organisational skills, analytical thinking and ability to manage clinical problems independently.
